JJ started his r/c racing at the age of 7 and a half. On a Saturday weekend, JJ and his Dad visited the local Shanghai r/c track for the first time when his Dad wanted to try out his new gas powered 1/5 scale F1 car. After learning that there was a race the next day, JJ’s Dad got him two RTR cars, one electric, one nitro and that was the day JJ got into the sport. JJ liked nitro racing and so his Dad decided to start him off with nitro cars.
