This was my first China Nationals, I have always wanted to win a National title in China but it always would conflict with my school schedule and held in far away regions of the county. This year, the Nationals were held in Beijing and although I had to miss couple days of school, I wanted to make the event. Overall, the entry was not large as the overall nitro scene in China has slowed down this year. However, the top nitro drivers in China were all present. I TQ’d and won both the 1/10 Sedan and 1/8 GP On-Road title this year and instead of trophies, the Chinese Sports Federation gave me 2 gold medals and certificate. I was told these were the same medals given to China’s Olympic athletes when they competed in the National games. Pretty cool!
- TQ in both 1:10 and 1:8 Nitro On-road
- Fastest lap time all week
- Winner of both 1:10 and 1:8 Class
- China’s youngest National Champion at age 14
